Guess What Happened!
In Guess What Happened!, each player tells the beginning of a personal anecdote, and then each other player tries to guess how things turned out. It's a great way for a group of new acquaintances to break the ice.
What You Need
- Three or more players.
- One pencil per player.
- A pad of notepaper.
How To Play
At the beginning of each round, choose a player to be the storyteller for the round. Each player gets to be the storyteller once per game.
When it's your turn to be the storyteller, think of an anecdote from your own life—something that actually happened to you. Tell the group your anecdote, but just before you get to the climax, stop and say "guess what happened!"
Now each other player must take a sheet of notepaper and write down what he or she thinks actually happened. All answers are passed to the round's designated reader, who reads them aloud. You must pick the three best answers and rank them from best to worst, according to how close each answer is to what actually happened. (Sometimes every answer is off by a mile, but you must still choose the top three.) The best of the three answers earns three points, the next-best answer earns two points, and the third-best answer earns one point. After you've chosen the winning answers, go ahead and tell everyone what actually happened.
When everyone has been the storyteller once, the game ends, and player with the most points wins.
