The Chicken Game System grew out of work that Mike Petty and I did at Protospiel 2003. I showed up with a concept about using juxtapositions of random words to create analogy problems, and Mike showed up with a concept about plugging player’s names into funny questions. Over the next few months, these ideas grew into games like Why Did the Chicken…? and Yaddy-Yadda Haiku, but it became clear that we could distill the essence of the concept into an abstract framework which could generate many other games. And so The Chicken Game System was born.
