Paradigm is a game of intuition and discovery. Your goal is to figure out a hidden pattern of colors; as the game progresses, you'll gain points for guessing parts of the pattern correctly. You can make as many guesses in a row as you want, but be careful - one mistake, and you'll lose all the points you earned during that turn! When the game ends, the player with the most points wins.
Paradigm is a "hot-seat" computer game, which means that everyone gathers around a single computer and takes turns playing. You can play it right now by clicking on the link to the right. You can also download the JAR file and play it offline. On most platforms you should be able to run the file just by double-clicking it.
Paradigm requires Java version 1.5 or better. To download the latest version of Java, go to Sun's Java Download Page and click on the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) button, or go to Apple's Java Page and click on the J2SE 5.0 download link (Tiger users only).
If you've never played the game before, take a quick look at the page describing How To Play.
After you've played the game a few times, you can try your hand at designing your own patterns. Go to How To Create Patterns for more information. I love playing new patterns, so if you design any, please send them to me!
